Shreveport, Louisiana
The city of Shreveport is the third-largest metropolitan area in the state of Louisiana. The city is located in northwest part of the state and in close proximity to Louisiana bordering states, Texas and Arkansas. The Shreveport Bossier Convention & Tourist Bureau web site describes the city's uniqueness when it writes, “It’s a mixture of the wide-open Texas spirit and the spicy Cajun attitude.”
The Louisiana city overlooks the Red River. The city's early settlers formed the Shreve Town Company, which was established to construct a town at the meeting point of the Red River and the Texas Trail.
The state of Louisiana has been nicknamed the “Hollywood South” because of the film industry has been drawn to the state because of tax incentives. Shreveport is no exception and has seen a number of films made in the city. According to an article written by Anya Kamenet for FastCompany.com, Louisiana has become third when it comes to film-producing states in the nation, behind only California and New York.
